Hunting

Sunny Side 2 Game Ranch

At a little over 11600 acres with 4 km of river front on the Limpopo river our hunting area provides diverse hunting opportunities. With thick palms and heavy riverine bush along the banks of the river makes this ideal habitat for Bushbuck, Waterbuck, Kudu, bushpig and leopard among other species.

On the upper banks it clears out to plains and acacia type savannah with lots of impala wildebeest and warthog. This area is considered free roaming as we do not fence down to the river so the game can migrate freely along the banks of the river.

the upper 9800 acres is a controlled high fence game preserve which allows us to monitor and look after the wildlife. Control in this area is very important and sustainable off take of older animals is good conservation practice to insure the future of our wildlife.

In the upper 9800 acres we have 12 water holes that dry up in the winter months. We also have eight man made water holes that have been built through the center of the farm to insure easy access from all areas of the farm.

All rifle hunting will be done on foot and spot and stalk from the truck.

Typically our most productive bow hunting is done from high stands overlooking salt blocks and waterholes but we do encourage walk and stalk with bow. This has also been very productive for us but you should be comfortable to take a 50 yard shot. This is a more aggressive approach but offers a realistic chance at game for those who don’t like to sit in a stand. We recommend at least 60 lbs draw weight on your bow but like to see 70 lbs+.

For rifle we recommend the 300 caliber’s.  Most of your shots are within 100 yards.  We do have rifles for hire.

There is also some really good bird shooting, we do not sell bird hunts but bird shooting will be reserved for hunters on the farm who would like to do some bird shooting during their safari.
